"Totally Black" in New Orleans: Go read the Rude Pundits entry for today (9/2). As usual the Rude one nails it, today its the ugly racism that Hurricane Katrina has ripped wide open for those willing to look.

What goes on in the Bubble Boy pResdient's mind at times like these?
One can only imagine? Of course he is the spawn of a mother who said this:
"Why should we hear about body bags, and deaths, and how many, what day it's gonna happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Or, I mean, it's, it's not relevant. So, why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?" March 18, 2003, on ABC/Good Morning America

Thoughts for the Day:

#1
People who despise government should not be allowed to run it.

#2 Also, Where the f___ is Mr. "Go F___ Yourself?" [That is the Vice President for you Sheepole.] And where is our Secretary of State, oh, wait I heard she was on vacation yesterday, buying a pair to thousand dollar shoes, and enjoying a Broadway show last night. Compassionate Conservatism at work!

Wait - Alert - Condi is back (4:00 PM CT) I just heard her say something like:
I was moved by the images I saw.

I about fell on the floor, Hey Condi, "when did you see those images, did you steal a glance at a TV between shoe shopping, attending the U.S. Open Tennis tournament, or on your way out the door to the Broadway Show?" WTF, I'm not the Secretary of State, I'm just a private citizen, saddened, sick, concerned, angry and broken-hearted, and I haven't been able to do or enjoy hardly anything all week long, not to mention hardly slept. Yet, the Secretary of State finds time for leisure, entertainment and a social life, what kind of world are we living in? These people are so transparent! Wake up Sheepole, put down the Kool-Aid and walk away from FOX News, turn off Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, open your ears, eyes, and most importantly your minds, and join the rest of the thinking reality based world. You don't want to be the last one of the Bubble Boy's ship that is sinking faster than the Titanic.

Mike Malloy - Howard Beale!

Last night's Mike Malloy radio show on Air America Radio was the most amazing, angry, gut-wrenching, eye-opening, truth-telling, piece of radio/public discourse I have ever heard. Mike, night in and night out reminds me of the film character Howard Beale in Network. He is "mad as hell and he isn't going to take it anymore!" We need hundreds of Mikes in the media and politics. Who will be the first high profile politician to be like Mike and Howard? The mayor of New Orleans did a good job last night, keep it coming.

Mike speaks the hard truths and realities of our troubled times and quickly crumbling nation - it isn't pretty but it is right on target. Mike calls a spade a spade, he calls the Bush bunch what they are "The Bush Crime Family," or the BFEE - the Bush Family Evil Empire. Last night he was right on when he called out all of the whores in the media who have been on their knees for five years as mouthpieces to the BFEE. Rather than report on real and important stories we have missing White women 24-7. If anything good can come out of this disaster it is that hopefully we will get back some semblance of an objetive media in this country [minus the whores at FOX]. Mike called them hypocrites because NOW they are finally waking from their slumbers and FINALLY reporting some troubling facts and being critical of the BFEE. Karl Rove and his ilk have lost control of the strings and if there is any justice they will never get control again. Last nights Mike Malloy show should be required listening for all Americans, especially the brain-dead, phony patriot Sheepole, driving around with the flags waving and the magnetic ribbons. It's time for Americans to take real action, and make real sacrifices. The Bubble Boy pResident won't ask for the rich, or his cronies, or the big Oil Companies to make sacrifices, the word "sacrifice" isn't in his vocabulary. Name me one sacrifice this pathetic sorry excuse of a man has ever had to make in his life. Compassionate Conservatism my ass, it's more like Conservative Compassion. I for one am MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE - who’s with me?

Go here to the White Rose Society, scroll down the page to the link for the September 1st show and listen, it is your true patriotic duty. While you're at it go to your local video store and get a copy of Network.

It's Time To Wake up NOW! - What will it take? Bush starts an illegal war – kills thousands – is creating an Islamic Theocracy where one didn't exist - fails to protect the Homeland and a dwindling number of raving Sheepole still stand by the Bubble Boy president! What will it take? From the 'Times-Picayune'

In early 2004, as the cost of the conflict in Iraq soared, President Bush proposed spending less than 20 percent of what the Corps said was needed for Lake Pontchartrain, according to a Feb. 16, 2004, article, in New Orleans CityBusiness.

On June 8, 2004, Walter Maestri, emergency management chief for Jefferson Parish, Louisiana; told the Times-Picayune: "It appears that the money has been moved in the president's budget to handle homeland security and the war in Iraq, and I suppose that's the price we pay. Nobody locally is happy that the levees can't be finished, and we are doing everything we can to make the case that this is a security issue for us.

We impeached Clinton for a blow-job? I'd say our priorities in this country are all screwed up!

The Press Begins To Finally Wake Up! From the Conservative New Hampshire Union Leader. All I can say is AMEN.

Bush and Katrina:
A time for action, not aloofness

AS THE EXTENT of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation became clearer on Tuesday — millions without power, tens of thousands homeless, a death toll unknowable because rescue crews can’t reach some regions — President Bush carried on with his plans to speak in San Diego, as if nothing important had happened the day before.

Katrina already is measured as one of the worst storms in American history. And yet, President Bush decided that his plans to commemorate the 60th anniversary of VJ Day with a speech were more pressing than responding to the carnage.

A better leader [can you say Bill Clinton] would have flown straight to the disaster zone and announced the immediate mobilization of every available resource to rescue the stranded, find and bury the dead, and keep the survivors fed, clothed, sheltered and free of disease.

The cool, confident, intuitive leadership Bush exhibited in his first term, particularly in the months immediately following Sept. 11, 2001, has vanished. In its place is a diffident detachment unsuitable for the leader of a nation facing war, natural disaster and economic uncertainty.

Wherever the old George W. Bush went, we sure wish we had him back.

I'm not sure about that last part - the old George W. Bush attacked the wrong country, wasting untold Billions to create a Islamic theocracy that is only creating terrorists faster than he can kill them. The old or current George W. Bush (the Bubble Boy pResident) no thanks. I wonder what his approval ratings will be next week as some of the Sheepole with brain activity start to get a clue - 20 some percent? I say we IMPEACH! Wake up Sheepole you have been bamboozled - put the kool-aid down and start the revolution.

While Southeners Die and Suffer the Bubble Boy pResident strums a guitar. I wonder if the Hurricane victims appreciated his tune and lack of humility.
Thanks to the Daily Kos for photo
John from Americablog nails it:
What I found was that Bush devoted 185 out of 3,800 words to the hurricane. That's almost 5%. Gives you a sense of how much time he was spending on the hurricane versus vacation and political issues.

In response to my below post, here is the best that one blogger/Sheepole Righton blog could come up with, the old "ho hum" retort.
As for this post... it's just more of the same from the extreme left in this country... ho hum. The President doesn't have to head up anything, there are organizations that respond instantly to these situations. You act as if the President is required by law, to jump whenever someone says jump.

My response to this Sheepole:
Yes the pResident should JUMP when the country is hit with the worst natural disaster in the Nation’s history - he is the symbolic leader. Imagine the symbolic message he sent as he continued his vacation and stump speaking as the Hurricane hit. Imagine if Clinton had performed just as Bush did when faced with this crisis - you and your ilk would have been screaming to high heaven - hypocrite. By any chance did you hear what the former Mayor of New Orleans said about YOUR glorious leader today? It was not pretty - he said the President holds the power and that there was a significant delay in depolyment of resources and man power - why? Because most of it is deployed overseas - creating more terrorists - and creating an Islamic theocracy that strips women of most of their rights - WAKE UP SHEEPOLE! WHEN WILL YOU ADMIT BUSH IS A MISERABLE FAILURE AND THE WORST PRESDIENT IN HISTORY? How low do his approval ratings have to go before you jump off Bubble Boy's sinking ship? When will you open your eyes and let reality sink in?

Worst President Ever - Miserable Failure - Leadership starts at the TOP!
President Bush announced Tuesday that he would cut short his extended summer vacation and fly to Washington to begin work on Wednesday with a task force that will coordinate the work of 14 federal agencies involved in the relief effort. from the New York Times today

"To begin work on Wednesday." Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the hurricane occur on Monday, why didn't he begin work on say Sunday before the hurricane hit? The problem as I see it is that our attention and resources are focused on the Bubble Boy pResident's . . . I break for a Sheepole explanation . . .
[for you Sheepole - I call him the Bubble Boy pResident because he has proudly stated that he doesn't read or watch the news. MAYBE SOMEBODY SHOULD HAVE TOLD HIM TWO DAYS AGO THAT THE GULF REGION WAS ABOUT TO BE HIT WITH A LEVEL 5 HURRICANE]

. . . continue . . . illegal and unnecessary war in Iraq, the majority of the National Guard in the region are deployed ABROAD and any significant number of National Guard troops are slow in getting to the region to start work, as are the Coast Guard and military, setting back the rescue and relief efforts by days, maybe even weeks. Let me ask a question:
Isn't the PRIMARY duty of the National Guard to protect the States, not fight in unnecessary wars that are only making us less safe - creating more terrorists?

So our Bubble Boy pResident is making a big sacrifice by ending his five week summer vacation by two days, is rolling up his sleeves and convening a task force TWO DAYS after what appears to be the worst natural disaster in American history - go ahead Sheepole defend that, I'm waiting!

Where was the President yesterday and today?

There is something wrong with this picture.
Hurricane Katrina is now being called one of the worst, if not the worst, disaster in US history. Instead of focusing on this growing tragedy in the southeast, you are at this moment giving a speech in California about World War II and Iraq. Yes, you devoted one minute of that speech to the hurricane, but now it's been 20 minutes and you are still talking about WWII and Iraq.

Mr. President, the entire nation is focused on one issue today, and it is not WWII. We are fixated by the images we're seeing on TV. The images of uncontrollable fires blazing across New Orleans. The images of people stranded on their rooftops waving white t-shirts for help. And as I write this, the water levels are still rising in New Orleans and the situation is getting desperate.

Thanks to John at Americablog go here to read the rest I couldn't have said it better!

As I watched the devastation last night I wondered why there was little or no mention in the media coverage of where the pResident was. Correct me if I'm wrong but at times of great crisis and disaster isn't one of the President's jobs to be the symbolic leader to speak to the nation and reassure them that everything that is humanly possible is being done. Think back to another time of great crisis and devastation - 9/11 - what did the boy pResident do that day? He ran like a scarred bunny rabbit across the country only to resurface the next day. I have to think that he has smart political advisors who told him to cut his vacation short and return to Washington ASAP. I have to wonder if Bush overrode his advisors and told them “f-you I’m not cutting my vacation short.” So, what did Bush do yesterday, he was all smiles as he ate birthday cake and celebrated with Senator McCain, and spoke about prescription drugs - all while a million plus people suffered. Last night he continued his vacation at a five-star resort in San Diego, while a million people suffered death and life shattering pain in the Gulf region - any irony here? Today, he is back at his stump speaking, beating the dead horse that is the illegal war in Iraq, now he is comparing it to WWII. Has anyone told this out of touch, spoiled, insensitive, little little tiny pathetic excuse of a man that his poll number are falling faster than the winds of Hurricane Katrina were spinning yesterday? Does he even give a flying f? You can bet that in a few days when it safe for him to go to the South, when he won’t get his feet wet or dirty, for his photo-op the media will be fawning all over him, and gushing, about how strong and resolute of a leader he is in a time of great crisis. Why weren’t they mentioning where he was last night when his country needed him? Just when I think that my opinion and respect for the boy pResident Bush can’t go any lower he continues to amaze me. When will the remaining 30% of the brain dead Sheepole wake up and see him for what he is worth.
