Worst President Ever - Miserable Failure - Leadership starts at the TOP!
President Bush announced Tuesday that he would cut short his extended summer vacation and fly to Washington to begin work on Wednesday with a task force that will coordinate the work of 14 federal agencies involved in the relief effort. from the New York Times today

"To begin work on Wednesday." Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the hurricane occur on Monday, why didn't he begin work on say Sunday before the hurricane hit? The problem as I see it is that our attention and resources are focused on the Bubble Boy pResident's . . . I break for a Sheepole explanation . . .
[for you Sheepole - I call him the Bubble Boy pResident because he has proudly stated that he doesn't read or watch the news. MAYBE SOMEBODY SHOULD HAVE TOLD HIM TWO DAYS AGO THAT THE GULF REGION WAS ABOUT TO BE HIT WITH A LEVEL 5 HURRICANE]

. . . continue . . . illegal and unnecessary war in Iraq, the majority of the National Guard in the region are deployed ABROAD and any significant number of National Guard troops are slow in getting to the region to start work, as are the Coast Guard and military, setting back the rescue and relief efforts by days, maybe even weeks. Let me ask a question:
Isn't the PRIMARY duty of the National Guard to protect the States, not fight in unnecessary wars that are only making us less safe - creating more terrorists?

So our Bubble Boy pResident is making a big sacrifice by ending his five week summer vacation by two days, is rolling up his sleeves and convening a task force TWO DAYS after what appears to be the worst natural disaster in American history - go ahead Sheepole defend that, I'm waiting!

As for this post... it's just more of the same from the extreme left in this country... ho hum.

The President doesn't have to head up anything, there are organizations that respond instantly to these situations. You act as if the President is required by law, to jump whenever someone says jump.

  • Bush likes to imply that he’s such a “strong leader”. If he were such a strong leader he’d be helping to spearhead the emergency response instead of waiting for “organizations [to] respond instantly to these situations”. Mr. Bush was the supposed leader who sat for 7 minutes in that Florida classroom while the nation was under attack.

  • "Mr. Bush was the supposed leader who sat for 7 minutes in that Florida classroom while the nation was under attack."

LOL, I swear the time gets longer every 6 months.

a year ago, liberals were bitching about why he sat there for 3 min while we were under attack, 6 months ago, I was reading 5 min and now it's 6 min? Which is it?

What did you expect him to do? Jump up and bolt? Yeah REAL mature.

How about this, YOU get elected president, have a major national disaster hit your country, and I'll judge you on your 'reaction time'

  • RightOn - At a minimum would you have not ended your vacation and got your ass back to Washington if nothing else for symbolic purposes? Do you think playing golf, struming a guitar, eating birthday cake, etc. while the nation is suffering isn't just a little bit insensative? What kind of a human being are you, or are you so blinded by ideology that you can't see the damage done!? Let me guess you call yourself a Christian? Where is the compassion. Your point about nit-picking over the number of minutes that the Bubble Boy sat on his ass in a classroom like a deer in headlights is lame at best - is that all you've got? Pathetic. But hang on to the myth - you will be going down with the Bubble Boy's ship! I expect more in my Presidents than you do!

  • I would be very nervous to think the president of the US would watch/read the news to find out what is happening in the world. Your Bubble Boy name just doesn't hold water.
